OUR NURSERY

Our Nursery

Glebe Kids is a small, family run business that was established as Glebe Kindergarten in 1988. Anna and Kent took over the ownership in 2004 and renamed it Glebe Kids.

Our children go on to Hillshott, St Nicholas, Kingshott, St. Thomas More, St. John's, Lordship, Icknield and many other local primary schools fully prepared for life at 'big school'.

The Nursery is open term-time only (we follow the same schedule as Hertfordshire schools) and we run breakfast clubs, flexible sessions, lunch clubs and afternoon play sessions from 8:30am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.

We welcome children from 2 years old until they go to 'big school' the term before they turn 5, from any and every background, nationality, culture and religion. We already have a very diverse mix both in our staff and in our children and we pride ourselves in celebrating all cultures, religions, traditions and languages.

We support children with special needs and have a resident Special Needs Coordinator on staff as well as close ties with Social Services, our area SENCO and all the local health visitors.

We are very lucky that the Nursery has three buildings totally dedicated to the children. The Nursery itself is based in a very attractive, original Victorian building that used to be the local dairy house in the 1930's. A lot of its original character has been retained and it provides a lovely, safe, really homely and spacious environment for young children. The centre was opened in 2007 to accommodate two year olds in the morning and our lunch clubs and sessions in the afternoons. Having three buildings allows us to offer truly flexible hours for all the children.

We have 2 rooms for 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

We purposely invite parents to visit to the nursery with their child. We will give you the 'grand tour' while your child can join in and play with the other children. It is no obligation so please call us on 01462 686683 to arrange a visit at your convenience.
